I laughed at the commentator remark about the Oilers learning from their mistakes, since they keep putting Smith into net. Sigh. They managed to outscore their defensive deficiencies tonight.

Terrible night for Smith, but he came up with the save that was needed in overtime.

I suppose you could say Smith made the saves he had to make since they won, but man he is tough to watch. A few years ago I loved watching him play, even before he was an Oilers because I like goalies who play the puck, but age really has caught up with him and wrestled him to the ground.

Huge 2 points. McDavid Being McDavid. Top two lines looked sharp. Smith is a pile compost. Spread him out as fertilizer on the River Valley.

Smith battles his way to a W again. Everyone else just lucky to be along for the ride.

Didn’t catch this one… anyone catch Smith’s FLoP? Did we hit the over?

Yup was wondering about that too.... I was driving for this one, and it was hard to get much of anything from Stauffer's PBP, let alone visualize a save. SV% slotted in at about the usual I see.

SlimJimPhantomCall and I have a long term in-joke about whether the Oilers need a TD or a converted TD to compete. Same with the Elkimos. We lack any confidence in the goaltending. This team needs to play 80s hockey and run up the score every game or risk more Flames'-type blowups.

Didn't watch the game, just the highlights over on youtube. Took up to the winning goal for them to show a save by either goalie. At 4-1 we should have put the game to bed, but in true Oilers fashion we didn't. Don't think I saw a goal by any team that was created by the scoring team, so many turnovers or poor netminding.
Still a win is a win and 2 points is better than 1 or 0 at this point in the season.
Take me home, country road
to the place where I belong
to Alberta, to see the Oilers

Need to withhold some passports.
LD, McD were awesome .. of course
And Kane, Hyman, JP were cooking it.. I never thought that Hyman would be as good as he's been.. he's a consistent force out there.. great work ethic.. rubs off on the team..
I'm really happy to see how JP is playing right now.. he's starting to use his Bison frame to separate pucks from people.. its like he's just realizing he's 6-4 and 205 .. I think Kane has influenced this metamorphosis..
" Oh give me a home where the Buffalo roam.."
Yamo starting to play the body as well.. way more effective.. separates pucks.. works the cycle..
Defense is still a mess positionally.
