Unfortunately playing with McD might suppress his true trade value, teams would be nervous.

It's going to be hard to trade Yamamoto and get adequate value. He's got a great contract right now, and can be qualified dirt cheap. He doesn't have a lot of leverage to get a massive deal, especially because of the McDavid premium. Teams are going to worry about the same things the Oilers and Oilers fans worry about - he's small and streaky.

If you're going to deal him, it has to be for something more valuable at a relatively similar cost. If you're getting a guy who costs double or who's UFA to be, and who gives similar production, then you just can't make that trade.

Fans too often focus on the wrong things with a player. Not everyone needs to be a star, especially in the cap era. They just need to outperform their contract, which Yamamoto does. If we are in a hurry to trade him just because of his size, we're likely to rue it.

I didn't realize this was a battle of the old farts. Combined ages of goalies is over 80.

Sabres got screwed twice there. Nurse 1000% deserved a penalty and that puck was in the net.

Probably headed to bed after the end of the second, but from what I've watched so far this has been a pretty dominating performance against a weaker team. Good to see.

Smith has done his job so far. Hasn't really been tested but also hasn't let in a bad goal.

With that in mind I am impressed at the lengths Michaels and Debrusk are going to selling us on him being fantastic. Every time Smith makes the easiest of saves they spend the next 10 seconds going over how much love they have for the old battler.

I enjoy Buffalo sucking more than I should. Just makes me feel better seeing a team even more inept at building

Let's say AS inept at building. And you have to feel for them, they have had half as many 1st overalls as us.

I think they are worse because they are repeating almost every mistake we make. Almost perfectly from the owner on down.

Why wouldn't you emulate our proud franchise? The only issue for Buffalo is that they don't have a true legendary warrior to lead the way like we do in Lowe.

Would need to do the math but I feel like we have experienced a lot of multi goal leads under Woodcroft. The hanging back playing passive with any lead stuff seems to be less of a thing
