It’ll be nice not to see our barn littered with Canadien’s jerseys.

Sportsnet has two 4K channels.
And they’re playing the same Toronto hockey game on both of them. Yeah that makes sense

C'mon, it's Sportsnet, what did you expect? Toronto first, always.

They can't even supply a decent HD signal for Flames games, it'll be years before they get 4K outside of Toronto.

I'm not faulting Archibald for failing to get to Connor's pass, but that play really highlights how much team needs a GOOD winger to complement him on that first line.

Hilariously predictable that it’s Nate Archibald that moves up to the top line. Sigh.

Meh, not surprised that wasn't a goal. The Habs player would have had to punch Price in the head himself before the refs would give them that one.

Woof, Nurse just lets Toffoli walk by him. That's inexcusable.

Now hold on, Nurse didn't let Toffoli get by him, because that would mean he was in a position to stop him to begin with,.

Yeah, that wasn't a good penalty for Jones to take. I wonder when Bouchard will get a shot at playing a game?

Jones is blowing his opportunity, no doubt. I would have rather kept Benning and let Caleb go, but that's just me.

I second that notion. Jones just isn't ready yet for the big time.

Does any play illustrate how bad the Oil's D can get than JEFF PETRY scoring on an open net off the wraparound?

Not a wraparound but a hand pass to himself (only bec it apparently didn’t touch his teammate. Another of the lucky bounces for the Habs in the game.

Same here, my wife and I both got a good chuckle out of that one. He seems to have a lot more energy tonight and I am not minding him at all so far.
I havent heard him making glaring mistakes on names every shift so thats a big plus.

I’m not saying... I’m just saying... JJ and Nuge were a regular PK crew, Shore was out with Nuge there.
Habs are taking it to us right now.

Bear, please stop trying those dipsy-doodle backhand clearance attempts when you have TWO opposing players near the net. Just stop it.

The Oilers have a horseshoe up their asses, that's why they're not down 3-0 at this point. It seems like they've forgotten how to play in their own end of the rink....

How is Montreal so good? Look at that roster...
I honestly don't see a team that is really all that impressive. When Danault is your first line center, how are they this good?

I’ve lost count of passes that have either been directly at a Habs player or picked off in some way already.

After watching this first period, I'm getting the distinct feeling that the Oilers don't really pay attention when watching clips of their opponents. I think most of the team just likes getting on the ice and learning by getting swamped.
By the second game, they've got a game plan.

Smith and Russell out so Koski is way out of his net in the starfish position. Nice little 2 for 1 tribute play.

The end of this period is tragic. The Oilers look like they are skating in sand. Terrible positioning, a tonnnnnnneeee of puck-watching.
Awful.

Koskinen looking sharp tonight. Total confidence in him.
Notice no closeups on him yet? Kris Russell in disguise?

Great play by Nurse to give up the instant 3-on-1 rush to let the Habs score again. And he's supposed to be one of the BETTER d-men for this team...
