This will arguably be the best defense+goalie we face in the North this year. There’s been a bit of talk the last 24 hours about “Carey Price has struggled against the Oilers in his career” but this season is unlike any other. Hopefully the Oilers speed can overwhelm this tough backend. That sounds weird to say, Oilers... speed. Not just McDavid speed.
A musty Jeff Petry 4.6 (Oilers + Habs jersey numbers) on the must win scale tonight.

I’ve been a fan of Khaira, but I think his shot as a regular is over and if there’s someone else ready then they get the nod.
Illegitimi non carborundum.

Jujhar is heavy on defensive try, but soooo short on maximizing his offensive potential.
He's not the most underwhelming talent we've ever had on this team, but definitely one of the more disappointing.
It's a shame because the guy has all the tools to play in this league... minus the brain for it.

Defensive try, but only on the PK for some reason. He's brutal defensively at 5v5. Maybe needs that structure of the PK to keep up with what's happening.
Think a lot of his issue is effort, but I guess that's the issue with a lot of guys with talents that max out as a 3rd/4th liner and keep bouncing in and out of lineups cause of no-showing.

My money is on the real deal in front of the net. Which is OK. Let JP get comfortable.
edit: oh, Real deal not playing yet? Yams then :)

Canadiens added some significant pieces in Toffoli and Anderson. They kept up with the Leafs which the Oilers haven't always been able to do. If we can take both games we're a legit threat in this division.
That being said I expect Montreal to fade when Weber and Price get injured.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

I’m not buying the hype. They lost to Toronto. The Leafs D has looked slow and outside of Reilly, is a bottom end blueline.
Montreal? They will still struggle to score.

I’m not a big fan of this, Arch is scratched, Chiasson in.
Bottom 6;
Nygard-Turris-Puljujarvi
Ennis-Shore-Chiasson
This is per nhl.com so I guess take it for whats it’s worth.

Chiasson needs to move his feet. I’m guessing that 4th line was deemed to small to play against Montreal’s?

I don’t mind him, but his price point sure sucks for what you get. He’s pretty versatile, but not good enough to justify 2M+

I’m not a Chiasson fan, clearly haha. 1 year and 500k too much. When Neal is back, Chiasson is redundant in this lineup.

Harnarayan Singh and Louie DeBrusk on the call again.
That seems to be who we get for national games if Cuthbert is doing another game.

No offence to Singh, but I wasn’t a fan of last game. His voice in English just didn’t have enough energy. Here is hoping it was jitters and he kills it tonight.
