Really need a ‘like’ option here. Well earned 2 points. Regulation win. Drai/97 didn’t play at ES until the dying moments. Back on the bandwagon.

I would love for once this team to get an ENG, and not have it be a total firedrill.

Take two points and get out of Texas. I always enjoy when the Stars lose.

97.

So, Klef/Lars is looking OK again. Just in time for Bear/Nurse to struggle :) Could actually have a decent top 4 if they could both be good at the same time! Hope that happens.

Kosko with a nice rebound game. Hope he has more of those coming.

Nuge, Chaisson, Khaira with CF% of 12%, 5% and 4.17% respectively tonight. Ouch.

I'm calling it a goalie win, very good bounce back for Koskinen, and although they weren't 3 stars, Larsson and Bear had pretty good games.

I had a bad feeling when Tippett put 97 and 29 together in the last minutes. That is a coaching mistake IMO.

Good win for the Oilers against a tough team. If they play good defense and get some timely saves, they can win games. With the lack of wing depth, they can't be a run and gun team yet.

I had a bad feeling with Drai looking bagged and stiff legged trying to defend with Bishop pulled. He probably still had some gas for a 2 on 1 with Connor though.

I've been saying this for a while. Longer shifts, fewer players. I was disappointed when Draisatl didn't break the record for most OT minutes the other day.

Kane won his art ross on the back of EN points. Dang it, McDrai need to figure this out one day.

Seeing the game live on site...some observations:

1) Stars PK supposedly killed off 26 or 27 straight penalties before this game..quite evident of their prowess on the kill

2) I felt the Oilers had some glorious chances yet were killed off when McDavid got too cute in the neutral zone leading to offside calls or giveaways that lead to low percentage opportunities for Dallas; this was quite evident on careless entry attempts during power play opportunities too as the game should've started off 4-0....

3) Maybe those careless neutral zone decisions were due to the McDavid/Drai getting acclimated to new line mates with such short notice at ES

4) Good to see Nuge active on the 3rd line with shut down responsibilities...coming back from injury, its not necessarily bad to get limited offensive chances in a more simplified role. (Would that stifle his numbers enough to where Oilers could resign him at a discount?)

5) Pavelski doesn't look as comfortable in the Stars system compared to when he could seemingly but just put up points consistently but also single-handedly drive his own lines with San Jose....hope it stays that way as he has a high cap with 2 more years on top of this.

6) Stars have solid chemistry & skill on their bottom two forward lines which I envy....their bottom D pairings are however a liability as they lack a solid right shot dman on the 2nd pairing. Polak & Sekera are whipping boys for their fans this season....

7) Solid defensive effort as the Stars weren't allowed that many high scoring opportunities except for the coaching gaffe at the end...

They finally decided to get back to paying attention to playing more defensively and it payed off. Crazy that they can't ever seem to get that third ( insurance ) goal or an empty net goal. Just keep our stomachs churning and blood pressure maxed right to the the end. Hope they can build on this win and keep it going. Koski was great !
