Well, at least there are 3 MCEU movies coming out this year to take my mind off this @#%%@$#@ of a hockey team. Captain Marvel looks like it will be another good one.

This is a dandy idea... but then you’d miss the final 3 minutes of each game when the team finally wakes up!

Scored 6 on 5!

Didn't allow EN!

Basically a win.

I feel like a total moron because the Oilers have tricked me at least 3 separate times that things cannot get any worse and yet here we are. Horrible team with no depth, wasting away a generational talent in his prime years, maxed to the cap for the foreseeable future, and publicly challenging the GM to trade anything and everything away in exchange for 4 games in the post season if he wants to keep his job.

I think you are looking at that backwards. If Carter calls them heartless you know it is bad.

It would be like Yamo calling someone short
Or Puljujärvi making fun of someones grasp of the English language.

You know things are bad if Anson thinks you dont have it in you to compete.

Mark Spector Active consideration inside the Oilers organization tonight re: firing Chiarelli. Could happen at any time.

From Rishaug;
It is my belief a change is imminent at the GM position in Edmonton. It’s no longer a matter of it, but when Peter Chiarelli’s is let go. I’d expect news shortly.

OMG OMF OMG

IT’S HAPPENING

Mark Spector Active consideration inside the Oilers organization tonight re: firing Chiarelli. Could happen at any time.

How does this stuff get out?

Oilers being reactionary again? So weird when the Koskinen contract still has the new car smell.

If PC is canned tonight. Who made this Koskinen deal?

From Rishaug;
It is my belief a change is imminent at the GM position in Edmonton. It’s no longer a matter of it, but when Peter Chiarelli’s is let go. I’d expect news shortly.

He deserves to be fired but it
Won't. Freaking. Matter.
The team is the team. As has been said before many times here, they have 3 top 6 forwards, and maybe 3 top 4/5 defensemen, and a freshly signed goalie that is a huge ? mark. What would you expect for an outcome... probably what you're looking at...

A couple of things entertaining about this.

1. The suggestion is that the Oilers are scrambling tonight. Like this is the single thing that makes them fire Chiarelli, or that his fate was completely in the hands of how the team played TONIGHT. If they've really decided to do this, they should have already known and this shouldn't be a reactive thing. And they probably shouldn't be letting the guy make idiotic signings the day before.

2. Rather than leaking to Spector and Rishaug that they ARE firing Chiarelli, they instead leaked that they're really, really thinking hard about it. That's a full-on joke. Either the person leaking has no actual say in the decision, or they're trying to leave themselves an out (we were really mad - don't worry fans!) or they literally haven't talked about it until now, which means they're a bunch of morons.

I hope it happens. If he's gone, the team is far from cancer free, but they'll have one tumour out. The heat will stay on too and when this team misses the playoffs, they'll be forced to make another sacrifice. It's embarrassing for the team and the owner that we can't expect full accountability but it would be naive to expect it. Matheson is already stumping to make one of Lowe, MacTavish or howson the next GM...

Except for McD, the Oilers look to be a worse team than when Chiarelli arrived. Bad choice after bad choice..

I hope all of you understand, if they let Chiarelli go, we're gonna get a fresh helping of LoweT. Is that what you really want?
