Oilers were 15-12-5 at the end of this day 2 years ago, so we are outpacing that playoff team buy a significant amount.

Theres also this:

Which kinda confirms that the schedule maker screwed the Oilers in the first 3 months, but it seemingly gets easier.

Don't take the Canucks for granted. They have been hot lately. Just play the same game we saw last Sunday.

Wow, that strength of schedule thing is pretty encouraging. I might not have been excited if McLellan was still coach, since we still did our usual thing of playing down to the level of opposition under him, always starting games feeling out the minimum effort level required to try to stay in it. But, maybe Hitch can push these guys to be consistent and actually take advantage of a softer schedule.
