MUUUUST WIN
fLames are reeeelin’ ever since their come from behind whacking of us a few weeks back. And are also down a few key players, though they showed real well against NSH last night.
Need a full 60-minute team game.

My hope is that Hitch makes a statement about trying to go after our stars, something that Tmac refused to do the last time we played. Either send someone out early to deal with Tkachuk, or send someone out earlier to retaliate on Gaudreau. Either way, set the tone early that the days of running down McDavid are over.

Well, the Flames called up their AHL goon. Dressing a guy who can't take a regular shift in back-to-back games is just dumb, especially when you don't have the last change. The Oilers need to take advantage. McDavid was flying last games with 4 points. Here's to him getting 5 points tonight.
8-2 Oilers!

I disagree, let the Flames run around and try to bait the Oilers, and let THEM take the stupid penalties. Playing "reactionary" doesn't work. Beat them on the score sheet, that's where it matters. The Flames know they can't win in an old-school type game, they will try to rattle the Oilers again. Don't fall for it, it's not the 80'sd anymore as much as some would like. Beat them with speed, skill, and smarts.
That said, if Lucic or Kass has a chance to throw a hard clean hit towards that puke Tkachuck (or really any other Flame), giver'.

That only works if you have a power play that is dangerous enough to cause the opponent concern. That has not been the case at all.

....Bob Cole doing PBP and Louis DeBrusk with colour...Gene Principe with the puns....
...same Oiler lineup that defeated Minnesota Friday night other than Koskinen in goal tonight....guess that means no Marody, Wideman, or Garrison...wouldn't be surprised if at least one of Wideman or Garrison ends up on waivers soon....and Marody gets sent back to Bakersfield....

I like Bob Cole. Always have. Him and Harry Neale were a couple of my favorites.
All in all I'm just glad we don't need to listen to that bald headed chicken plucker tonight.
Oh yeah. Oilers will win.

Coles expiration date passed a long time ago.
Prepare to hear, “The Oiler netminder” instead of “Koskinen” most the night. Wouldn’t matter if the more popular Talbot was starting either. Oiler netminder. Oilers defender as well. My wife will be able to identify more Oilers from home than old Bob will tonight at Rogers.
He’s still exciting to listen to when there’s a scramble in front of the net though.

Its just his presentation. More laid back. Isn't constantly rambling about some stupid random crap or stat. Saves it for the exciting plays. Old school hockey broadcasting.

Likely because he couldn’t recite a stat anyway.
He puts me to sleep until there’s a scramble in front, then his raising voice startles me out of my slumber.
Most people agree with you though. He’s a favourite.

He's a legend. He was REALLY good in the 1980s...but like Lowe & Company, he overstayed his welcome. It's good he's hanging it up this year...but it probably should have happened a decade ago.
Now, will they ever put Cherry out to pasture?
