Things are very tight, and yeah, there's still 55 games left after this one but a regulation win would be huge. Move up to a point behind Dallas with a game in hand.

Lucic went from being on pace for an 82 goal season to now having only scored twice in the past 72 games.
Imagine if Lucic hadn't scored in the first game of the season.

I wonder what was the highest dollar/goal contract in the NHL the last few seasons...Lucic has to be getting close:
Year 1 - 23 goals - $260,870/goal
Year 2 - 10 goals - $600,000/goal
Year 3 - 1 goal in 26 games...that's trending to an incredible $2MM/goal.

At least now he's playing where he should be. 3rd line, high energy shifts with the main goal of offensive zone possession. Hitch even puts those guys out against top lines and he do a decent job of keeping the puck out of our end.
No more lucic on the 1st PP unit, no more Lucic being a boat anchor in the top 6. Nice to finally see.

I think Khaira is on like a 37 goalless drought too. That's amazing to me since I see at least once every 3 or 4 games where he's broken through the D for a great chance or like in Calgary he had that breakaway.
