I understand this game started super late, but someone should tell the Oilers to wake the bleep up.

Not a great start for Chia’s latest genius deal...perhaps it won’t be too much longer before he joins TMac in the unemployment line....

Evidently, the only person who didn’t think to put the man with hot hands on the PP with Connor is the one now sitting at home after getting the sack.

Ugh, Wideman lets Kopitar blow by him and Nurse can't do his job of stopping the pass.

Wideman gets walked and it ends up behind Talbot. We saw this a few times with Benning.

Talbot at least waited 7-8 shots to let one by.

Oilers arrived at least half a period late for this one. Not much going.

LA playing their 3rd string goalie .. what kind of effort did we expect the Oilers to bring?

As the D-coach for Cowtown Stampeders is quoted about what he does as a coach if he has players that look like they aren't bringing effort to the game .. "I don't coach effort .. I replace it"

Ok, I have to say that Chia did good by signing Chiasson.

Signed him after Garrison, so it's not like it was part of the master plan. Just one we got lucky on.

Interesting though to see Chiasson on fire...his career high in goals in a season is 13...he's now only three back of that in just 17 games. Hard to see this as sustainable, but ride it as long as it lasts.

McDavid and Drai can be magic. But leave them together too long and they start getting cute. Leave them longer and they start to act like goofs. Drai is is just throwing pucks around like crazy man tonight.

Not sure the long hope passes are part of the Hitchcock playbook.

Larsson cheats to try to pick off the pass and they doesn't even try to chase down Kopitar. That's embarrassing.

Minute into his shift.

Larsson did not look good on that goal. Didn't cover the man, didn't stop the pass, and then gave up skating after Kopitar...

Oiler D gets beat, behind Talbot. How does a veteran like Larsson lose Kopitar? You know the last line of defense isn't going to bail you out.

For a team that's trying to improve defensively, the ancient LAK team is schooling the Oilers on the transition. Lots of odd breaks against.

I know you are running for Pres of team cheerleader but if you honestly think Hall didn't give damn you are resorting to just making stuff up.
We dont know if he listened to coaches, followed the game plan, or any of the other stuff that was used as reasons why he was traded but he was often the only one with effort during those years.

Like the half of a year where he needed to step up because McDavid had a broken collarbone, and he was sleepwalking through all the games? The textbook definition of not giving a damn.

You mean the year, on a tire fire of a team, where he got 26G - 39A - 65 P?
If he was sleepwalking and put up those stats, surrounded by that group, no wonder he went on to win an MVP award.

The Hall/Draisaitl line kept the Oilers in the hunt that year as long as possible. The coach - in his infinite wisdom - pulled the reins on those guys once McDavid came back.

Yup, that year, the year the raw rookie had 48 points in 45 games, but the loser who led this team to year after year of failure couldn't suck it up. Too busy pouting about not being 'The Man'.

Yup, that year, the year the raw rookie had 48 points in 45 games, but the loser who led this team to year after year of failure couldn't suck it up. Too busy pouting about not being 'The Man'.

He roomed with McDavid, they remain friends, he specifically said - "It's McDavid's team" - but sure...keep echoing the talking points. He clearly was the issue, and it was almost a steal that we managed to get Larsson for him, right? After all, 20-point right shot d-men don't grow on trees!

Yes, yes of course. Hall couldn’t lead a competitive team to success.

Who is the leader that was responsible for last seasons disaster then? Excluding coaching and management of course. Give us a hint. Throw us all a bone.

This is ridiculous.
As others have chimed in I am not sure how you can blame the best player at the time for the terrible roster, terrible coaching and overall terrible management of this club.
I know we all have our biases but buying in fully to the propaganda that Hall and his attitude were the problem on the team gets tougher to swallow buy the season.
all evidence points to Hall not being the cancer on the team but being poisoned by his surroundings and bad team culture.
Outside of the generational talent that is McDavid almost every single player that leaves the Oilers has an improvement in either recognition of abilities, team achievement or stats. Sometimes all of them.
Conversely almost every player that comes to the team is worse in most if not all of those categories.

I cant wait for you to tell me some more how Hall and his attitude were the problem in a couple years. If McDavid alone cant drag this team to success do you start blaming him?

Hello Jack Hughes

We are running a little short on first overall picks now...

Who says they would be targeting Hughes anyway? They could use that pick for Curtis Lazar.

The ultra-rare ref taking back a penalty he called goes against us, of course.

Apparently the refs figured they were calling too many on LA vets and put the whistle away. Terrible.

Am I the only who’s getting kind of annoyed with every time the Brodziak line jumps over the boards we hear “hear comes the identity line!”

This 3rd string goalie is looking like a stud...
