Bad defensive coverage, but Talbot NEEDS to save that.

Meh, guy in all alone in prime scoring position. I'm not blaming Talbot on that one. That was very swarm-esque D with 3 guys chasing the puck into the corner.

Again, Talbot NEEDS to make a big save.

Yep, Talbot never seems to make the save a goalie needs to make to help his team win games. Goalies can't be expected just to make the average saves - NHL goalies are not paid to be average.

Talbot looks tiny in net.

Talbot is done folks. He's no longer a starting goalie in this league.

This seems a little knee-jerk. It's a little early to come to that conclusion.

Classic Oilers, coverage breakdowns and Talbot 0 for 2 on bailouts, looking like Mike Palmateer in net coverage. Fourth line -2. That'll staple them to the bench.

2-1 on a McDavid ppg.
All kinds of ice and lanes available for the caps to attack, what the heck is going on? No one is covering anyone.

Not a good period, but they fought back to score one. Need to wake up and start playing with some purpose.

Thought they were lucky to get away with only being down one, asleep defensively at times. Good PK especially Kassian. You wonder if that was a make up call on Leon.

Once again Talbot = mediocre.

There's gotta be a better pbp guy out there than Quinn. Oshie ties the game at 2? He's approaching Bob Cole / Harry Neale levels of forgetting what's going on and he's half their age.

Exactly, last year or yest before, at the end of a period he threw the telecast to the intermission crew, but the person he named worked for TSN, not RSN....and not sure if that person ever worked for RSN.

I don't see harm in getting the hook out for the next period. He hasn't been terrible, but gotta have a stop or 2 out of these 4.

Naw, gotta let him finish, hope he can calm down and make some saves, get some confidence.
Koskinen will be playing tomorrow anyway.

There's a big stop for Talbot. It's over if that goes in.

Not bad but too many costly mistakes and can't seem to generate quality shots. Good defense by the Captitals. Lucic played well tonight I thought but no puck luck.

IMO Nuge has been the best player on the ice for both teams. Working his butt off both ends of the ice. Just not enough support from the rest of the team.
