lol. 2 goal lead gone 1:50 into the 3rd.

Even up 2-0, team looks disjointed.

Thanks Darnell.. guy is 30 yo and still can't make a pro pivot.. gets called for dragging down the forward.. PP .. 2-1.. cues the Ottawa comeback.. 2-2 seconds later..

Nurse is so useless. Expiry of his NMC can't come soon enough.

No offence
No defence
No Physicality

what does he do?

Nurse has to be up there as one of the worst, it not THE worst, contracts in the NHL currently.

How much of this start to the season is due to coaching? I'm starting to wonder how much of an impact the new coaching group is having on this absolute black hole of offense.

Nurse was voted 2nd most overrated in the anonymous players poll last year. Zegras was #1.

I was actually surprised nurse would come to players minds. Zegras is obvious because he tries to be so flashy and on a bottom feeder so he barely got anything done. Nurse I guess players remember how easy it was to own him and how this huge D was so unable to much defensively or physically.

He seems to be worse than ever. Maybe he just wants to spite us all. If I was coaching I’d give him a couple of games off and see what happens. Or sit him until he agrees to waive his NMC.

I'm looking forward to the day that Nurse is no longer part of this team. His totally unjustified "looking down his nose" interviews are the worst. He thinks he's something incredible and it irks the eff out of me.

Man is this team struggling for offense. Holy hell.

Way to go Nurse. This game was going so well until you decided to be awful.

What's surprising is he still joins offensive rushes without the puck like he thinks he's Scott Neidermeyer.. and is never effective.. joins the rush but never gets to open space.. no offensive threat.. just puts himself out of position and then some hapless forward has to cover his D-spot until he drags his butt back to his zone.. the risk/reward is negative.. but he still does it.. and apparently coaches are OK with it.

Regardless of the contract.. you'd think one of these past years the guy would get personally embarrassed enough to go hard and super train in the off season to get better at his skills .. his shot is a muffin.. he plays the front of the net like a muffin.. surprising lack of foot work agility.. that's all stuff you can improve on.. he seems to process the game pretty slow .. not much to do there.. except learn from experience.. but he's a 11 year pro now.. it is what it is.. he needs to simplify not add complexity.

Edit:

Sorry for the rant Darnell, just think you have the tools to do much better..

I'm surprised as well that other NHL'ers have noticed his play enough (out of the entire league) to consider him #2 most overrated.. because it isn't worst contract value.. its most undeserved rating ..

I would have thought because we all watch Oiler games (sometimes exclusively) that we might be prone to a biased/skewed opinion of some players.. positively or negatively.. guess not in this case.

On the bright side..

Walman was a welcome addition.. what a blast.. loved the swagger after!

Philp continues to play smart center, always seems to be making the right play and in the right position..

Savoie starting to create chances.

Skinner was solid.

Howard showed off his weapon.. snipe. Not bad.. 1st NHL goal assisted by both 97 & 29
