This can’t be real can it?

This reeks of prorated James Neal goals and worse. No issues for Florida with Tkachuk, Tampa with Kucherov, or even Vegas with Mark Stone every damned year?

I will lose my mind if something comes of this.

They'll find some small print in the rules that points to an even smaller printed rule that enables them to punish us.

They'll then be creative with the punishment, something that would allow them to block us offering McDavid a new contract.

I worry what may have happened here was the Kane really didn't want to sit out until the playoffs, and he was pushing back against the org. We saw many indications last year that he was refusing to sit out and wanted to play through an injury almost all of 23/24, which screwed both him and the team in the end. We kept seeing reports that he could come back early and potentially that he was pushing to come back because he didn't want to go cold into the playoffs.

If the player isn't going along with the LTIR scam like Landeskog, Tkachuk, Stone, Kucherov, etc... all did in the past, then I could see the NHL finding an opening to finally try to burn a team for using this loophole. I guess Kane would be the second guy to go against the org plans if that is what happened. Lupul did it too to Toronto, but flipped his story when he got a call from the godfather Lucky Lou.

Oilers again will be the poster child for cap circumvention and bear the punishment, but let's not look at you know..

Vegas
Tampa
Florida

Like it was said, someone is going to look at the small print and draw a lightly barely perceivable line and say the Oilers are at fault.

Utterly ridiculous.

The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.

Generally Disappointed.
