Shesterkin gets the richest ever AAV for a goalie. 8x11.5M with every buyout-proof trick in it and full NMC throughout.

Probably deserves it. Rangers leave him out to dry constantly, almost as if their game plan is to not play defense because they don't think they have to. Ends up burning them in the end every season, but they just keep doing it.
"We need to get better immediately. That starts today"
- Lowe, 2013
"Next year I would forecast as another developmental year"
- MacT, 2015
5 x $5,000,000

What an absolutely insane contract. He's definitely been on of the better goalies over the last 5 years or so, His numbers were awesome the year he won the Vezina (21-22). Since then, for goalies with >=50GP, he's 8th in save % with .914 and 12th in GAA with 2.59. So definitely still elite, but these aren't Hasek Hart winning type numbers.
And honestly from the Rangers' standpoint, the $11.5m wouldn't scare me too much at least for the next few years - but we all know how goalies can be. If he falls off a cliff at any point, you are absolutely screwed. Ain't nobody taking that boat anchor on. That bonus structure and the full 8 year NMC is insane. Whatever - good for Igor and his agent I guess!
