Over .500 team again. Foot off the gas for a while there, but still grinding things out pretty good.

Podz is a nice surprise lately. Hyman looking way more confident now. Drai in the zone. J. Skinner with the fancy mitts.

One can hope that McDavid out for a few weeks finally sparked the team as well as a coach firing has before? :) Some good tests coming to town now with the Devils and Golden Knights.

I was crushed this morning. After more than a week with no sign of Spector on Sportsnet, he's back. Basically complaining that Draisaitl is carrying the team in McDavid's absence. I'm sure it's tongue-in-cheek, but the guy sure knows how to not read the room.

Good all around game..
Its a good sign they've played OK without McD.. I think they have tendency to fall into a bad habit of being "watchers" when McDavid is playing.. they expect he'll just do his thing and make stuff happen and they feel less of a responsibility to do it themselves.. this might be a good galvanizing moment team-wise.

Some of the most positive take-aways for me;

Skinner showing his skill

Philp showing more speed than I thought he had.. good puck IQ.. made some nice plays.. didn't look out of place as an NHL center.

Leon carrying the mail.

Podkolzin.. starting to play up to his potential as a 1st rounder.. noticed some progression since start of the season. .made some nice plays.. play rarely dies on his stick..

McDAVID! Oh YEAH Baby!!
Tic-Tac-Tao!
Keep on Rockin' in the Free World
P. Chiarelli math.. T. Hall = A. Larsson, Yak= bag o'pucks (OK he got one right...) K. Russell = $4.1 M+NMC, G. Reinhart= M. Barzal + A. Beauvillier, J. Eberle = R. Spooner,
