Wasn’t exactly sure where to post this but…
Ok this has been bothering me for years. The Kesler pad grab on Talbot in the 2017 semis. I just have one question. Why did Talbot not mention anything about Kesler grabbing onto his right pad? Wouldn’t he have known? He was literally hanging onto his pad for ten seconds. It’s always bothered me. Any insight? I need closure. IMHO it cost us the series. I don’t know how to post a picture either.

Very possible Talbot didn't really know what happened until he could watch it after the game. That was pure chaos.
Forever shameful for the league to have ignored it though. They had all the time in the world to make the right call and chose not to. Couldn't be more clear Talbot was trying to pull his leg in to close exactly where the puck ended up going, but couldn't because Kelser left his arm stuck in the pad pulling it.
For bonus anger, the NHL's explanation of allowing the goal. With zero mention of what Kesler did after he was pushed

Talbot quote here. Seems he wasn't 100% sure what he saw on the jumbotron. I'm sure he had a better idea with extra angles later.

“I couldn’t bring [my leg] back underneath me. There was no way I could do that,” said Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot. “I watched the replay and like he has a chance to get up and almost looks like he kind of even digs in over my pad and makes it look like he’s just holding on so I don’t know. The only thing I got to see was the jumbotron replay so maybe they have another angle. I don’t know.”

Is this a real life Austin Powers situation where he is awoken and has to watch years of footage to catch up on what happened?

I don't want to spoil his surprise but 2020 isn't a great year.

They did a full review of the play at the command centre and it was deemed no interference. I'm assuming they looked at everything. That's what was so infuriating, it was clearly illegal and he league just turned a blind eye. Bieksa still laughs every time it comes up on HNIC because he knows they got away with robbery.

Fun fact, there are two current Oilers in this picture

To be fair, if they'd overturned that goal, how would the refs have had to explain that to Corey Perry? It's a bridge too far.
