Nice to see the Oilers win a game that they should. Even moreso when the other team is starting a mediocre AHL netminder. Too often those are the games where we make the guy look like the next coming of Dominik Hasek.
And contributions from virtually every line with McDavid having a relatively low impact on the score sheet. Not too often we put up 5+ where he hasn't driven the bus with a multi-point game the last few years.
Important road trip here - so hopefully they can really take it to the Kings and Ducks this weekend.

Update on the table below.
EDM's shooting percentage with McLeod on the ice didn't stay at 1.5% and the real goals have caught up to the expected goals.
Its almost like you can predict this stuff!

Are there some Oilers fans who still think that Evan Bouchard is not good defenseman? In our opinion he's an elite player, as we said many times before already. Actually, one of the best contracts in the NHL right now. However there will be definitely a big increase in 2025.

Couple of stats on a couple players who were the favourite whipping boys of the Edmonton media for much of this year (and maybe a couple of posters in here too). I do really fear we're going to regret that Bouchard bridge deal...He's going to be EXPENSIVE next time around.

It might actually become a pretty funny story, in a monkey's paw kind of way. Bouchard might be so good that he leads the fix on the Oilers' awful D this year reopening that closed cup window... but that would make him so expensive that he forces a Draisaitl trade or a Bouchard trade.

It's neat how cool we were to throw 3.225M of next year's cap space at Connor Brown's ghost. If we just properly managed our cap and had room this year for Bouch to sign 8 years it would have also saved us from that stupid Brown contract, and we would basically have the exact same cap hit on the books next season. Maybe Brown would have just signed for cheap anyways to play with McDavid after he realized not many teams were interested in a career 3rd liner that had some shooting luck spurts that also had a near career ending injury.
Oh well! Let's enjoy a couple ppg seasons from Boich before his next negotiations start in a year.
