Oilers get another backup goalie. It makes me wonder if the Oilers are doing something different offensively too, other teams just aren’t scared enough of the leagues best offense last year.

Soupy sleeping a bit on the gtg. These guys are out of soft goal capital, but alas, there are zero optioms in goal besides these two for the Oilers.

Goalies just can't make a save. Joaquin Gage tried to defend them in the intermission and Stouffer just roasted him. Campbell procedes to give up two softies in 4 minutes.

Remember how the media was saying that Campbell was just so focused over the summer and he was like a whole different guy now? Well, that new guy still can't stop the puck.

If only there had been any way to predict the goaltending issues for this squad...

There wasn’t. You can’t predict the future and you’re not an expert. Adam.

It’s nice the power play is showing signs of life. That can cover up 2ish rounds worth of bad defense.

Would the league let the Oilers use a shooter tutor and not charge them the goalie cap dollars?

This team is a mess. Can't get a save, gives up odd man rushes all the time, 5v5 offense looks completely neutered. This ship is sinnnnnkking fast...

They legit look like an AHL team out there against a bad Nashville team. Top two lines can't generate anything, unless it's on the PP.

Yea but they’d have to give up a second round pick to Boston.

This team is pretty embarrassing. We basically are just achieving Eakins hockey without the Eakins system. Perimeter offense with weak sauce attempts at any rebounds. And then allow AAA quality chances against like we want to get the goals against to happen ASAP to keep the Corsis against down.

Makes for great analytics. Pretty terrible for your record though.

I don't remember seeing a goalie get scored on twice in the same play before. It's an impressive accomplishment by Soup.

I’m just going to the small victories. Gagner looks good. Happy for Lavoie.

new GM and coach are a must before we start goalie shopping. And they better do it all this season.

Woody I think has proven he is lost coaching 5v5 hockey. This team is not even close to defending properly, in our zone and against the rush. We are just being picked apart over and over and teams are catching on how easy it is to get high quality chances on us.

The only time this team looked good defending it was 1/2 a season when they seemed to actually put effort into Tippett's system after he was fired, or whatever was happening. Clearly it wasn't anything Woody brought to the table. Woody getting eaten alive by Cassidy, then announcing to the world his new 5v5 PK system is one of the saddest displays I've seen from an Oilers coach, on par with Dallas Eakins.

Nuke the offices, it's time for this org to be serious before it's too late.

Yep. That’s what this feels like.

It sucks. I do think he’s one of the smarter coaches we’ve had but he’s making some pretty glaring errors. Janmark getting time, refusal to split Leon and Connor, not giving Holloway and now Lavoie minutes…

But Holland won’t find a good replacement.

Feels like we are watching a sad ending of the Leon and Connor era.

Trade 2 or 3 firsts and Jack Campbell to any team who can fit his cap on their roster.

Fire the entire coaching staff including the goalie coach.

Fire the GM after he has made these moves.

That's all I've got.

At this point if you iced a team that's 100% accountable and competant and competes each and every night, I wouldn't care if 97 and 29 are even here. Nice to have after years of being abysmal, but as we know it's not everything.

If they blow it up, 97 and 29 are both gone. We'll be stuck with 25 though, because his contract is a trash dump.

I don't want to see Holland getting to hide behind a 3rd coach. That's a joke if they let Holland fire Woody and hire someone else.
