Connor's hit on Anderson: was it indeed revenge for Anderson's hit on Drai last year?

I gotta say that I like the notion of pairing Broberg with Ekholm- having the best D-man on the team mentoring the youngest one is a great idea. Hopefully young Broberg can learn how to improve his defensive game from playing with a guy who knows how to do it well.

Looks like tonight's game is a good preview of what the Oil could be facing in the playoffs, as the Kings are playing the 1-3-1 trap and just keep things mucked up in the neutral zone.

I've always wondered how much of a thing this is. Do players yell to each other in their native language on the ice when they know the other guy understands? I remember some story about Torres learning some Czech when he played on a line with Nedved and Hemsky in 2004, but obviously that didn't last long.

Ugh, it's so messy. Really need to win the division and let them play a vengeful Quick in the first round.

Yep, it's a great preview of playoff hockey, alright. And now the Oil get a 2nd penalty against....

To be a little fair, the rest of the guys haven't really committed really egregious defensive errors to the same degree that we're used to seeing so far.

Maybe the refs feel like they owe the Kings for not calling a major on Connor's hit on Anderson earlier.

Think its just normal NHL stuff.

Won't get any easier either. I have a bad feeling that the narrative of the freshly rebuilt LA Kings getting revenge for last year and taking down McDavid in the first round after he potentially has the best point total of anyone not named Gretzky or Lemieux is giving NHL execs boners already.

I don't think I could handle watching a first round series against the Kings. Did they get Korpisalo simply because he singlehandely got two wins against us this season in CBJ?

Wow, Stu definitely came to play tonight.

Nice seeing saves of bad errors by the skaters. Keep it up Stu!

To be a little fair, the rest of the guys haven't really committed really egregious defensive errors to the same degree that we're used to seeing so far.

Been better for sure. I'll definitely take 1/1 saves off a bad error though over 0/4 that we usually get :)

There we go with another BS call against the Oil as the refs just have to help the Kings out.

Backfired!

Maybe better to just call nothing now.

They heard you. Have swallowed their whistles now. I hate the Shane Doan-esque forgiveness that Doughty gets. Being old and dirty has its benefits.
