Dear lord, that might be one of the more disappointing losses I can remember.

So, when is Karlsson coming to Edmonton? When will this D group upgrade to “average”?

I'm confused by shootout choices. Barrie, Draisaitl, and Yamamoto should have been Hyman, Kane, and McLeod. Draisaitl especially, after they run him into the ground all game he's just got nothing left in the shootout.

Ha. Off the top of my head I can think of the Hab loss. The Detroit loss. The Flyer loss.

...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

That game was so Oilers. try to sit on a lead, get burned.

Actually think Karlsson would help with that. We have a lot of D that are pretty weak moving the puck, so it's natural for them to go into a shell. We badly need more elite guys that think attack instead of playing scared.

So yeah, get Karlsson...like right now.

1. Campbell had some amazing saves.
2. Slapshots in shoot outs like that are stupid.
3. Vinny D would have made that defense look better.

Drai doesn't look himself out there. Body language isn't really positive. Good job Campbell getting us a point. Refs were atrocious. That's about it.

Something is clearly wrong with Draisaitl, Kane and Hyman. All three of them had NOTHING going in this game, outside of Drai's goal. McLeod's and Ryan's lines were both far more effective.

Awful 2nd and 3rd period.
They scored enough goals, even if LD, Kane looked way off out there.. but that defense.. game after game they suck the life out of the team.. poor position, lose their man constantly, can't skate the puck out to save their own, or their team's life.. lose pucks.. can't break the cycle.. and then when they do get possession.. turn it over with a crap pass.. firing pucks blindly without even bothering to do a shoulder check to see who they are firing it to.. and the over all skating is below average.. only great skating defenseman they have is Broberg, and he's the rookie..

I have no idea what Nurse is doing half the time in his own end.. he chases guys out to the blue line and then the puck goes back to a guy in front of the net for a 2 on 1 out numbered chance.. Campbell bailed them out on a few of those tonight.

Maybe its Manson?

Well.. if they get Karlsson at least it should cut down on the SH goals against.. Barrie just hasn't got the wheels to recover fast enough if the puck gets coughed up on the PP.

Oh well.. hope for better next game.

1. I hope I never see another shootout again.
2. If we do... NUGE
3. If we do... never send Drai over the boards again.

There was word the dressing room has a bug of some kind (flu?) running through it. It's a fair guess those guys were a mile high on nyquil.

I'm surprised at how ineffective LD has been, for such a sniper he doesn't seem to have a sure idea what he's going to do when he skate sin on the goalie.. you'd think with such a great backhand he'd deke forehand and shelf backhand..

Once or twice a season, I wake up the next day and I'm still annoyed at this team. (I don't let them truly affect my mood)

This is the second time in the last couple of weeks, so there's that.
At this point, I'm like - sure, screw it, get Karlsson, or whatever, sell the farm. Just do something. Make me want to like this team again, beyond 97.

Blah.

97.

Yup, they sell us hope and deliver disappointment so often. I laughed pretty hard when Jack Michaels commented during the play-by-play about how great this game was between these two Cup contenders. I guess Cup contender and Wild Card hopeful are the same thing.
