Feh, lose to a peon team first night, beat a good team the 2nd night, lose to a peon team in the third. Can they get some consistency going on this trip?

Tippett will never play Skinner again at this rate.

Also, disappointing to see this loss when we finally play the best bottom 6 options.

Powerplay can’t win every game for you... the depth on this team is ... lacking.

Weirdest feeling 10-3 team. Need the bottom 6 to start chipping in some offense or this train is may not leave the next station.

Not enough juice in the top 6 tonight and nothing good out of the bottom 6. Plenty of PP opportunities, but lots broke up by 4 on 4.

Kind of disappointing that the Oilers can't seem dominate and defeat teams like Detroit and Buffalo.

Their no name tender puts on a clinic when the Oilers manage some urgency as usual late in the game, the Oilers don't get quite the same.

After initial success and promise, the bottom 6 is contributing less than hoped, Foegle still gets out there, D. Ryan has tailed off, Turris not getting it done, Sceviour just OK, Perlini too inconsistent, McLeod still too soft on the puck, Benson missing a gear, Kassian and Shore are out but just OK prior to injuries.

Bottom 6 is bigger/faster/better than last year, but still a lot of work required.

This is becoming a bit of trend, waltzing into a game and just feeling out how much they need to do to maybe win. Not a good thing.
I get that everyone was tired both physically and spiritually tonight given what they went through in Boston, but that doesn’t really excuse the no show in Detroit.
Just noticing a pattern developing again. Let’s hope it’s brief, but this has been a thing for years so it has my concern.

In fairness to Hall, I've wanted to throw a waterbottle at Eakins all season.

Didn’t see the first, but from what I saw, Skinner wasn’t bad. A breakaway, a perfect shot far side below the blocker, above the pad, and another breakaway…sure he could have handled the rebound a bit better, but the trailer could also have been picked up a LOT better. No stinkers there and actually some pretty good saves. I wouldn’t be scared to put him back in.

And that “depth”…was good while it lasted I guess

This season is weird. 10-3-0, awesome. Then you see Sutter, Eakins and McLellan all right behind us in the division.

The bottom 6 got very little ice time while Tippett was banking points at the start of the season. Good plan to get ahead in the standings but the supporting guys on the team need to play in order to be on their game. Now, when we need to give McDrai a breather, the bottom 6 aren't in gear yet. Still, I'd rather be 10-3 with some work to be done than 9-9-1 and slumping like a few years back.

I'm with you on that, 10-3 is good, but hard to not dwell on that it should be 12-1, Detroit/Buffalo wins laying there for the taking.
A contributing bottom 6 can do wonders for game outcomes if the opposing teams focus 100% on the McD and LD lines (as they are forced to), leaving a potential matchup advantage on the 3rd-4th lines, if they they had the ability to contribute to scoring.

I don't feel so bad about last night now after watching the Sabres pump 4 goals past the Leafs on HNIC, on a back-to-back.. fun times.

2006 showed that a balanced team can overachieve. Hopefully Tippett can get the 3rd and 4th lines contributing and confident.
