3:00 puck drop means I pretend to work while watching the game. Hoping for a good game so I don't feel tempted to turn my focus back to work.

Good period, way more shots, way more high end chances, very few if any glaring errors or giveaways.
This is exactly what I expect against an inferior team and its nice not to be disappointed.

Annoyed at myself for forgetting about the game until the period was over. Watched the replay of the goal - how many times has that exact play been executed my McDavid and Drai this year? So incredibly effective.

I am not sure about his stats compared to other years but it feels like McDavid has been shooting more on the PP. This keeps that lane across more open.
On this one the couple steps he took towards the net drew everyone's eyes, sticks and skates towards him. Reminds me of OV and the Caps. Everyone has known for years where it is going on the PP but is still near impossible to stop.

Jessa sure seems to piss people off easily. One of these times I hope he snaps and speedbags someone. Surprise the hockey world with knowledge he was the finnish farm town bare knuckle champ or something.

The stuff with Brady following Draisaitl around chirping is where we need Kassian to show up for once this year. The name on the back should be enough to have him redline and let him know not to mess with the star players.

Ok I don’t normally listen to games on the radio in present times so I might be late to the party, but wow Cam Moon was excited about that Senators goal. Not what I’m looking for in a home AM radio broadcast, that’s for sure.

Yeah, I would like to see Jesse’s wires touch too, but I doubt that will ever happen. Just not in his DNA it appears.

Regarding Kassian, I wonder if opponents know he busted a wing lately and might not engage. I wonder if it’s stopping him as well. There was no excuse before the injury though. I just wanted him to run people and raise hell. The coach infers the same, so he goes out and busts his hand on a helmet. 🙄 I was just shaking my head that night.

I am currently listening to the radio broadcast. I have no issue with how Moon called the Sens goal. I expect more energy for Oilers goal which he did but I don't expect the play by play guy to sound like he just watched his dog get run over every time the other team scores. His job is to paint the picture of the game who can't watch it.

Bit of an up and down period. Oilers got pretty sloppy with the puck at times. I would like to see a little more push back after the scrum. I dont need 70's broad street bullies but the Sens came out of that energized and the Oilers seemed content to try and weather said push.

That shot by Drai was something else. Nice to see the star players came to play tonight, they have been pretty quiet as of late.

Yeah - growing up with Rod Phillips, you get pretty used to knowing exactly how the game is going by hearing the tone of voice if you turn on the radio late. I really don't mind a little homerism on the radio because it's by very definition local.

Being UP is OK. And, possibly, winning is NICE too. But TIPPET should be using ALL of these games to find a left winger to play with 97... This team will find it hard to get 5 playoff games in if 97/29 play together... icon_cool

Being UP is OK. And, possibly, winning is NICE too. But TIPPET should be using ALL of these games to find a left winger to play with 97... This team will find it hard to get 5 playoff games in if 97/29 play together... icon_cool

That may be up to Ken Holland here. Having one more really good winger would go a long way to helping this team - whether it just gives some support to Nugent-Hopkins, or gives you the opportunity to split up Draisaitl and Hall and still be really dangerous with both lines.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next 5 days.

Wait what? Did I miss a stealth Taylor Hall trade or something?

I would be putting a package centering around bear and a 2022 draft pick for one of the big 3 wingers available hall, palmeri, Hoffman.

Every single player on the ice should be hanging their head in shame after that goal. Koskinen HAS to make that save though, an average wrist shot from that far out should never go in.

Over half of the Oilers dont even seem to be aware there is a game on right now.
