Yeah, my sphincter is unclenching as we speak.

Well, I'll take it, but that was tougher than it needed to be.

the more they learn how to protect these leads the better...
...this time, it's for real (isn't it?).

Damn I thought Connie was going to go for that empty net! Now all they will say is how he tied Crosby after his 369th game with 501 points.

Smith stopped pretty much what needed stopping, a nice night aside from the Pionk goal. Some curious calls and missed calls, bad night for the refs probably for both teams. Dumb penalty for Ehlers with less than 3 min left.

It was a real decision to start either of the OIL goalers... but SMITH made the saves he had to.
good work.

And way too bullheaded. I don’t like him out coaching many guys. His systems might be great, but he’s very unwilling to adapt to in game moments.

Smith looked confident and played a quiet game. I think the Pionk goal was a mess on 41’s part, but he otherwise played a great game.
Love that Vancouver won in regulation. The 3 point games will be the death of someone.
Was it just me or do Yams and JP look like legit really good top 6 players?

Yams is just full of great defensive efforts. Kid deserves some more rewards offensively. Sure it'll start coming again soon.
Pulju is definitely the most confident we've ever seen him. See no reason to not let him keep on trucking in a top 6 role. Not a defensive liability either like we've had with guys like Kassian and Neal when they get their shot up there.

Good game by Smith
Timely scoring on a reigning Vezina winner who was dialed in
Didn't let substandard reffing affect them
Connor hit a milestone
PoolParty and Drai with highlight reel snipes
All around good defensive play
At least the Chicken Littles go away for a few days

Great game by Smith.. stellar saves, so many open looks in front of him that he made a save on, team in front of him tried to make it more interesting than it had to be. Bad ref calls didn't help.

I'm not sure what game the refs were watching, but it didn't look like it was the one on the ice in front of them. Weird calls both ways. Almost like they realized they had completely botched the calls in the first period, so decided to make up for it over the rest of the game. As former referee I HATE makeup calls. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Didn't watch the 3rd period (11pm starts SUCK) but it sounds like we did the same as we always do and went into full turtle mode? I'm not a fan of that at all.
Happy to see Connor get his 500th point so early in his career. I suspect he'll hit 600 a lot sooner than Crosby did. JP is looking the most confident I've ever seen him, and holy cow is he a man mountain. Just immovable once he gets in front of the net.
Yamamoto may be my favourite player to watch. He's so dang tenacious on the forecheck. Doesn't matter that he's half the size of the players he's going up against - he gets in there, and comes out with the puck more often than not.

Well I am super glad the team found a way to win on guaranteed win night. Would have been pretty embarrassing otherwise. I'm starting to think we play better when we don't fall behind right at the start of the game.
You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.
