Biggest game of the season so far! Let’s see what this team really is made of. If they can’t get up for this one then there is something not right with the group.

I'm expecting a good effort tonight.
They haven't played well but managed 2 wins in the last 3 games. They had a pretty busy, tiring run. McDavid looked like he was going to puke after his goal. A bunch of new faces due to the trades. Guys coming back from long injuries with not a lot of practice time to integrate them. Takes time to gel.
I would play Koskinen tonight. Koskinen stood on his head in Dallas and they won. Smith was OK against Nashville but the offense destroyed the Preds and he did let in 3 goals. Smith wasn't great against the Hawks, Koskinen comes in and shuts the door. Koskinen stands on his head against Columbus and they win. Koskinen literally won the his last 2 starts all by himself. Ride the hot hand. He should have had a shutout against Columbus if it wasn't for that bad Leon give away. Plus what messages does it say to Koskinen if you don't start him. I would start Koskinen against Vegas based on what he's done then have Smith in on Wednesday regardless.
I would also go to Smith and physically tell him the plan. He basically had a shutout, Smith based on his afterhours interview told Koskinen to consider it a shut out. USUALLY if you get a shut out, you automatically get the next start unless it's a back to back. Smith shouldn't be pissed. If the tables were turn, I bet he's be expecting to start.

I was pretty down on them for what seemed like lack of effort in the last couple of games but after listening to coach Tippet's post game where he said the team had no jump in the morning skate before the Columbus game, came around to the realization that there are times when they power out in the course of a long season. Conner wasn't feeling well on top of it all so am hoping for a full on effort tonight and hopefully right out of the gate this time. Can't rely on you're goal tending to be that good every game but it's a bonus if can. Big game, need a solid effort by the whole team.

I didn't realize how much they played. After Saturdays game, that was their 7th game in 12 days. 5 of them were on the road, with 2 sets of back to back. They still have a busy March and have 13 games total left but 9 of their last 13 are at home. Hopefully that isn't as taxing.

Press release came out that no media in the dressing room because of the virus, has to be done in a press conference.
When does Terry Jones come out and complain about not getting dressing room access and try to get someone fired?

I know there's still a dozen games left, but I'm calling this one the game for the divisional title. It's a 4-pointer and I can't imagine the division title is decided by more than that many points.
Yeah it would be nice to win the division, but I really want to go up against Calgary. No chance we can meet them in the second round given they always choke in the first.

Final two games are against Vegas and the Flames. Those will probably be bigger determiners of who wins the division. Huge game tonight though.

Koskinen gets the net tonight.
Tipp confirms McDavid hasn’t been feeling well for a few days, doesn’t partake in optional this morning. Hopeful to play tonight.

I am glad they started Koskinen, he deserves it and except for a brief stretch, been the better goalie. The numbers back that up.
At what point do the Oilers not just have McDavid enter a sterile, protective clean room? As soon as the game is over he's immediately taken off the ice and put in status until the next game.

The important question: how does the Corona Virus affect tonight's game?
2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.
2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.
2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid, in hopes that it's Drain-O.
2018/2019 - Another round of Drain-O, good sir!

It's possible that if a player needs to take a dump between periods, they might not be able to wipe.

Not all the TP has been bought up, surely there are some Tkachuk jerseys available at hockey life or something.

DO players start negotiating a stock pile of TP into their contract? It may become more valuable than money soon.

It's ok. NHL players are paid in real currency, not toilet paper leaf bucks.

FOR NOW!!
Instead of No Moves. Negotiate 1 yrs supply of TP for every year of the contract.

Most likely they want the media out so they have the privacy needed to waffle stomp in the showers without anyone finding out about it.

That is a legitimate concern. The players need their privacy.
Side note: I'd be extremely amused if waffle stomping became an inside joke here during the playoff run.
