Oilers are 7-1-1, the Wild are 2-6-0.
This has "taking your opponent easy" written all over it.
I'm a pessimist until a playoff birth is clinched.
MUST WIN!
"Bah Gawd! Would somebody stop the damn draft!"

Coming off a loss, I hope they Oilers don't take them lightly. In my opinion, when you have been one of the worst teams in the league for years, I don't know how they could take any team lightly even when you have banked a few wins early. You'd hope that the guys that have been in the room all those lousy years who are also the ones that set the tone for the team, would be sick of losing and would want to come out and stomp on the Wild.

I wonder if they put Gagner in. The could use some offense in the bottom 6. In my opinion, Khaira, Archibald and P. Russel are interchangeable. Jurco is almost in that group. Maybe you sit Jurco just because he really hasn't done anything and doesn't kill penalties. 8 shots in 8 games is pretty sad.

Hopefully they don't fall on old habits and give the Wild the rebound game they need to get going.

McDavid hasn't scored a point in 2 games. Tippett proved to everyone the Oilers can play button down hockey getting 3 out of a possible 4 points. Time for him to release the McDavid.

Just a heads up. This game is buried fairly deep on your TV dial. Sportsnet has prioritized all of these higher than Oilers:
World Series Gm 1
Raptors Season Opener
Canucks @ Wings
Capitals @ Flames
If you are on Shaw, it says channel 304 for the Oilers game.

Hoping they don't go vintage and allow the Wild to control the game, slow everything down and bore us all to death. That's the way to beat the Oilers so we have to force other teams to play fast and make mistakes. And maybe a few less fire drills in our own end would help too.

The Wild have really had the Oil's number over the past few seasons, with last season being the first time the Oil came out ahead in the season series in over 12 years. This really is a game that the Oil cannot be looking past, not that they should be looking past ANYONE at this point.
"There's no greater springboard to development than failure." - Craig MacTavish, April 13/15.
