Nice. If he scores 10-12 goals, we're as good as in the playoffs!!!

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

True, this guy is pretty much guaranteed to win the Selke... where is MacT when you need him to pre-award an award?

I can confirm that his contract is going to be higher than expected. If not, then Holland has passed his first test and hasn't caught the Oilers' disease yet.

Doesn't it need to be an entry level deal? Those max out pretty low.

I don't know. But what I do know, is that if there's a way to overpay, the Oilers will find it.

So how far down on the depth chart of best players not in the NHL is he? Is he Jiri Dopita-good? Jonas Gustavsson good?

Apparently two way one year deal under $1M. If that's the case, actually sounds decent for once.

Yep, that is the kind of deal that if he helps the team great, if not, nothing lost but a contract spot.

Also seems to mean he CHOSE the Oilers. I doubt that was the highest offer or at worst there wasnt a matching one money wise, or a one way .

it's just an ELC isn't it? Euro leaguers can't be UFA's to the NHL until they are 27. He's got no choice but to do the ~1M 2-way deal if he wants to play in the NHL. Can try to get bonuses too though. Hope we didn't toss him a bunch of those.

Sure, why not? Some potential upside, little risk. We need cheap scoring depth in our bottom six. Maybe he is that.

If it's indeed a 1 yr deal under 1 mill and a 2 way, that's a good signing in my opinion. Supposedly he's really fast and can kill penalties. The Oilers are going to need to go out and find cheap guys that can play. The bar is to be better than Rieder so won't take much to succeed.

I am quite pleased with the contract. A 1 yr, 2 way deal. Under 1 mill in the NHL. If he doesn't make the NHL, he goes to the AHL, makes 70K and takes the place of whatever AHL guy they won't bring back.

I said it before, all he has to do is score 1 goal and it will be more of a success than Rieder and he's making less than half what Rieder did.

Well the details of the contract didn't come out until over the weekend. Everything else was speculation.
