Oh look, the Devils come around and that loser Taylor Hall is too scared to show his face. Then he gives some cock and bull story about a bad knee. Not buying it. He's ducking the Oilers.

Absolute must win. It doesn't matter the Devils aren't that good this year, they have to win.

I'll say this for the Oilers, this late season push is a lot more fun than a late season fold.

Is hockey fun again?

2015/2016 - This Kool-Aid tastes like McDavid flavoured Drain-O.
2016/2017 - This Kool-Aid is starting to taste like juice.
2017/2018 - I'm drinking this Kool-Aid, in hopes that it's Drain-O.
2018/2019 - Another round of Drain-O, good sir!

It’s always been fun... it’s just, more entertaining when they’re winning and providing hope for the fan base and for the ORPP!

No way! Watching an Oilers' game has been a lot like going to a funeral.

Talking about hockey is almost always fun though.

The odds of the Oilers making the playoffs is long but even if they don't make it, I really hope how they are playing is a sign of things to come.

It will be if McDavid can one-up Gaudreau tonight...

I usually hate tackling teams who just got embarrassed, but New Jersey is in some disarray. Hall's hurt, and they traded off Johansson, Boyle and Kincaid at the deadline. We most likely get Schneider, who comes in rocking a .897 save percentage. They may be ripe for the picking.

Here's hoping the Oilers take them seriously...

Yeah after last night, Gaudreau who was 5 points behind Drai just leapfrogged him.

Everyone here at work this morning is so giddy about the Flames, like they won a championship. You just beat a team that sold off a couple of assets and best players are out.

I have the same worry and hope the Oilers don't take them lightly.

What are they saying is wrong with him?

I do think if he wasn't hurt, that there's little chance Hitchcock wouldn't have juggled things to re-insert him after they lost to Toronto. He's pretty quick to make changes...

Hitch JUST said in his availability post practice that Lucic and Klefbom are good to go tonight!

Edit: Also, JJ

Good to hear that Klefbom, Lucic and JJ will be good to go. Oilers need all hands on deck. I am guessing the lines will be.

Leon - McDavid - Kassian
Lucic/Khaira - Nuge - Gagner
Lucic/Khaira - Cave - Chiasson
Rieder - Brodziak - Currie

Not great but not bad.

I know Hall is out but I wonder how he's feeling with the Devils and their roster. The Oilers roster isn't that great for McDavid but they at least have a bunch of good pieces along with him to work with and if a savy GM can move a piece or 2 out and add in a few players, they could easily be alright next season. Hall's a UFA at the end of next season and I look their roster and there is a whole pile of nothing. At center they have Hischeir who is probably going to be decent but I don't see him as high end then their next best center is 33 yr old Zajac. Basically Horcoff 2.0. Their starting goalie is going to be 33 and hasn't been good in 3 years. Their best dman is probably Greene and he's 36.

Not much to work with if I am Hall.

The story of his career. I hope he finds some place in the summer that can string together some wins so he can build some sort of legacy outside of a single round of playoffs.

Pretty close.Oilers website lists apparent forward combinations (morning practice was optional)

Kelly Hrudey (yeah, I know) mentioned on the Flames/Devils broadcast last night that the team NJ had playing against the Flames had scored a total of 98 goals in the NHL this season.

He would be nuts to sign an extension there if he ever wants to win. Imagine if he signed a discount deal with the FLames? lol

I expect that Hall isn't simply looking to maximize his earning potential next summer...he's going to go to a team where he can play with some other great players.

I do wonder if a wholesale change at the top here might make Edmonton an attractive place to choose...

That's not happening...

Before Chia was hired, the idea was being spread from this org that Hall was not who they expected him to be in terms of team culture. He's not blind...I don't think there is any way he would come back here.

Hall deserves better than the EOG. (OEG?). Katz and friends.

You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you just might find, you can get a lottery pick.

You may have missed the bolded. I agree, as things are, no chance he considers it. But clearing out all of the OBC? Certainly wouldn't hurt the top 6.
