MUST WIN!!!

Or... must lose? Depending on your view of what the Oilers should do.

Hitch basically broke it down to 3-game series to end the year where we have to get 4 of 6 points. That’s... a mighty tall ask for this group. We’ll know by Sunday if this team had a sniff of playoffs this year.

#boldprognostication Koskinen has a rough night, stoking the fire regarding his contract extension. Connor v Sid lives up to its billing as both pot 3 points, though Connor’s will be on the Oilers only goals while Sids army gets 3 of their own for a 6-3 Pens win. Hitch then says we need a stop and goes back to Talbot next game.

McPoints please!

And if we lose, it is only because the players didn’t want it enough.

Well you can’t have your coaches wanting it more than the players this time of year now can you?

There's been some time changes from the very first schedule release that I put into the database here. Easy enough to fix, thanks for pointing it out.

The hell is wrong with you all? If the Oilers got 17-6-4 there's an 89.6% they make the playoffs.

It starts tonight. MUST WIN!

Penguins win 6-1, Crosby with 4 points and McDavid shut out for the second game in a row.

Hmmmm. Yeah, good point. It's just that the team is soooo much worse than the last time they met, that I can't see McDavid shining at all.

I think it's this kind of game where McDavid starts to feel the anger of being part of the Terribleness™.

Tough to argue that... though I will using Hitch's recent comments of we're a better road team. Yeah... yeah. That'll work.

Brodziak and Manning healthy scratches tonight.

Manning is a gift.

The hell is in the water in Edmonton? Brodziak had 33 points last season. Reider had more than 0 goals last season.

Blues have D that can move a puck up the ice.

All our forwards are at a massive disadvantage on this team. Nothing will start offensively until they are helping out deep in our zone. I think it's just too much for mediocre players to overcome. By the time you get to the offensive end, there is barely anything left in the tank to make a push. Our D are also generally weak at helping keep plays alive and giving forwards a chance to extend time in the offensive end.

We're gonna be working with a handicap as long as this team goes without a proper amount of puck moving D. Only McDavid really is able to overcome it because he can carry end to end consistently.

The hell is wrong with you all? If the Oilers got 17-6-4 there's an 89.6% they make the playoffs.

It starts tonight. MUST WIN!

Penguins win 6-1, Crosby with 4 points and McDavid shut out for the second game in a row.

Easy pickin's. The Pens will be cocky and overconfident. We have them right where we want them.

Nothing. Could. Possibly. Go. Wrong. With. This. Plan. 16-6-4 to go, 90% after tonight.

I don't know why anyone is saying they AREN'T going to watch this game! Wave Towel

A gift to Stan Bowman!

But you don't get to be as popular with other GMs as Chiarelli is without being generous!

If you can believe the Condors hype these days Dave Manson is taking care of the D situation down on the farm, so in just a couple of years..... There is some real promise there but one gets tired of waiting.

Do the Oilers take Vitamin D? Honestly, the lack of sun can seriously F a person up.

That could actually be the thing that's making everyone that comes here, suck so bad.

Except in winter.

If you believe the round earth theory every location on Earth should be eligible for the same amount of sun. We just get ours when there's no hockey (except for playoffs, but those don't count here).

Still get sun in the winter. Just, in lesser dose.

You sure that’s true? Would the locations along the equator still not receive more sun than those near the poles based on obliquity?

This seems to be trying to account for cloud cover and weather events that may cause a day without people experiencing some amount of sunshine.

On the topic of vitamin D production though. Don't think the angle the sun hits us at in the winter can quite cut it for enough production. It's light, but the energy to penetrate your skin blows. Plus we're all covered up. Make sure you supplement with vitamins or dairy or other foods with it :)
