This should be the Oil plan moving forward:

1) Play Koskinen in every game except for the 1st or 2nd of back-to-backs depending on the opponent.
2) ?????
3) Profit!

Seriously, at this point there is no debate about who the starter should be.

Huge save by Koskinen late in the game.

It is nice to get a coach who knows when to challenge calls to begin with.

Yeah even with his blunder goal today I have lots of confidence. I do hope that Cam figures it out though. Being a Dad that’s good at his job is hard, especially with twins!

Very happy to see that whiney B Quick let that winner in. Guy played his best games of the year against us far too often. Almost did it again until that sucker went in. Suck it Quick.

Man, Dustin Brown probably chopped 45 hands in this game. Walks away with 0 PIM's tonight.

Not to mention coming out on top of the goalie interference review on JP's goal. Although both calls seemed obvious I was still surprised.

The refs did their best to try to stop us. We overcame. And now NHL.com has erased all history of the game

2nd GWG in a row for Oscar.

Koskinen one stinker we thought...3-2 but....offside, good job to whoever caught that likely game-saving challenge.

Muggings as hockey plays is so 15 years ago, it's got to be embarrassing professionally as a hockey player to have to try to win that way, and it has to be embarrassing as a professional hockey referee to facking constantly turn a blind eye. Stampede rasslin' had better officiating.

Regulation win. I'd rather see dominant wins, but the Oilers dont have bottom 6 scoring at all, and don't have the D to do anything but try and keep the other team to the outside and manage a hardscrabble zone exit most of the time. I think this is the picture of an Oilers win this year...they might stretch out with an EN goal or two, but this is where it's at.

god, how conservative of a coach was McLellan? Hitch is complaining that he needs Klef/Larsson to get their butts further into the zone to help keep plays alive and be available for taking more dangerous shots as the 1st D pair. When forwards are working in the zone, our D have been hanging out right at the ends of the blue line for years and bailing at the drop of a hat.

Will be interesting to see if he and those 2 players can pull off a change like that. Pinches, and basically any Dman aggression have not been a very good thing with this team while we play in the O zone for a long time. Every other team has been doing it to us with ease for years though.

A BIG ....MOGA ! Oh Yeah!

Love beating LA and that sniveler Quick.

Freaking non-calls on LA against McD were a freaking joke.... again. Forbert literally tackles McD RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REF, ITS STARING HIM SQUARE in the FACE ... and ... ref doesn't make the call. But ... somehow the same donkeys find a way to give LA a 5 on 3 for the sure goal.

Gravel looked good, Kassian/Brodziak/Lucic were a force, starting to gel as a line, Lucic looking more comfortable in that role, and pretty effective, Kassian playing happy out there, flying around making things happen. Good times.

To me, it looks like the Oilers are playing a lot better in their own end now, fewer fire drills, maybe Hitch is actually making things happen. D-men look a little more sure of what they are going to do with the puck.

Anyone else notice that when that D-bag Brown took McDavid down against the boards that he grabbed McD's arm and then twisted as he fell to try a pull McD's arm out of its socket, it was a purposeful motion by Brown. That could have easily given McDavid a separated shoulder, requiring surgery. Same move that Tkchuk pulled on Brandon Davidson a couple of years ago, ruined Davidson's year. Brown is s**t bag, his name matches his character, he's shortened so many careers over the years, I'm hoping that Karma finally catches up to that D-bag

Observation: McClellan deserved to be fired just based on the 3 years of insisting to put Lucic on the PP, alone! Chiasson is a welcome relief.

I love Kassian on the bench!

So when the Oilers make the playoffs this year, will they wear their Royal Blue 3rd's the entire playoffs? Kind of like how they used their Orange 3rd's in 2017. I miss these colours.

Near the end after the show the replay you can see him jump with happiness like the rest of the bench.

Credit where it is due, he has played much better and looked overall more engaged since the coaching change

Oh man, it's hilarious! Especially the overtime goals, he's always the first off the bench.

The last OT goal by Klefbom, in the celly replay you see Kassian first off the bench, grabs McDavid who is smiling, says something to him. McDavid's face now looks more worried than happy. I wish I knew what Kassian says after these goals. He always seems to always get in the face of McDavid too.

I love Kassian on the bench!

So when the Oilers make the playoffs this year, will they wear their Royal Blue 3rd's the entire playoffs? Kind of like how they used their Orange 3rd's in 2017. I miss these colours.

And Lucic looks not at all impressed. No more 1st PP unit. He should ask for a trade and cancel his NMC.

Bad screen grab for Lucic.

Near the end after the show the replay you can see him jump with happiness like the rest of the bench.

Credit where it is due, he has played much better and looked overall more engaged since the coaching change

I must confess, I did see the other angle where he cheered, but I still couldn't resist making that comment. I have a problem :)

Saw an interesting suggestion on Twitter last night. Suggested that tOulers should use all their jerseys (other than the Post-Pronger Pyjamas) during the year. Why not? The midnight blues were sharp, I didn’t mind the Spawn jersey (although it’s a bit controversial). Would probably sell more sweaters and give lots of people the one they love best. I’d even like to see them where the classic whites at home sometimes too.

For what it’s worth, if we were to have only two jerseys, the classic royal blue is always best for me.

Royal blue is great, but I think the sharpest is the Navy blue, with the copper, like this..

I agree. The royal blue looked really nice and had a classic feel to them, even though I wasn't sold on the red ring third color. The orange and blues are fine, but they have the feeling of a 70's cartoon.

I was never a fan of bringing back the 80's dynasty colors because it clearly shows how far into the past Katz's head is where it comes to this team. The copper-and-blue design just exudes class while still retaining the old logo albeit with adjusted colors. They should never have gone back to the 80's design, IMO.

Yeah, I said it at the time it showed the organization was more focused on the glory of the past instead of creating new success in the present. Although, I haven't heard of an Oilers nostalgia night yet for this season, aside from Fuhr's documentary being shown at the arena.

Copper & Blue is yucky.

Somehow I can separate the retro jerseys from Glory Days Dynasty. I have no idea why. I like that it’s the original look and still going. Like original 6 teams do. They rarely stray far from original colour/pattern. Copper is just never any part of that. Never liked it. Don’t get me started on the McFarlane disaster.
