Looks like Cassidy simply isn't going to happen for us. Unless we want to waste 1 year with an interim coach, which would be crazy to do with McDavid a year from his next negotiation.

Yes Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon saying now the team would grant permission for Bruce Cassidy to interview elsewhere “on a case by case” basis does sound like Not Edmonton. So let’s kick the Cassidy and the Oilers coach possibility to the curb
Vegas did already allow Cassidy to do 1 interview with a team. Likely the Leafs, which didn't result in a hiring with Hiller getting the job.
Whatever though, we're all in on Babcock already anyways.
Saw some funny claims that McPhee has a vendetta against the Oilers org because he thinks we mishandled his son’s development. Seeing what a lunatic McPhee is just watching Vegas games, I could see it.

I remembered that.. he was lucky his kid (Graham) was even drafted.. 5th round (wasted a pick on him) he's a never was.. .bounced around in the ECHL .. went into Ottawa's system.... . stopped playing hockey before last season.. when he was 26.
