That could be.. I still think McD is the MVP of his team every year (depends on if its MVP of league.. or team.. they seem to keep changing the definition of MVP lol).. just based on what he does.. some might've thought Kuch.. no problem.. most eastern writers don't even stay up long enough to watch games out west.. but the most interesting thing I thought when reading the votes was how many had McDavid 4th or 5th on their list.. which makes you wonder if they have the level of judgement required to vote on anything related to hockey awards.

Thought you're supposed to take a players ability to be healthy as a sign of their value. PPG shouldn't matter, only total points should. At least that's what mattered when people were choosing the best rookie in McDavid's first year. Also McDavid got his team into the playoffs with a crazy push at the end of the year with Drai injured. Kuch had Vezina tier goaltending and the best coach in the league, which lessens how important he actually was to his teams success. McDavid had more goals, more assists, and played PK and 2:30 more per game than Kucherov. We also didn't win a single game without McDavid getting a point. I dunno, this seemed like a pretty damn obvious one this year, but these voters just feel a need to rotate the Hart around if they see the same names as front runners. The players got it right, the lame writers are just lame and lazy as usual.

If McDavid had the best goalie and coach in the league on his team, you can be sure he would have just been left off the ballot for lots of Eastern voters.
