Saw claims that Vegas was appealing that penalty and would meet with the NHL. They might use allowing Cassidy to talk to other teams as some leverage to try to get the penalty reduced. Vegas putting the league in a weird spot trying to block their fired coach from exploring opportunities. Bad precedent to allow, letting teams trying to force their fired coaches to sit out, or excluding them looking for opportunities with certain teams.

Vegas seems determined to always push the limits of everything. Glad they still are losing that 2nd round pick.
Coaches that sign in Vegas should be looking at a clause for the option to have freedom for HC interviews, and the option exit the contract if they are dismissed from the HC position. I guess all coaches everywhere should be doing that now.
