What infuriated me the most was on at least two goals they scored they went past our bench gloating and goading us and at no time afterwards did we actually look to do anything about it. We've got rid of the goon out of the game and they want to rid the game of fighting, but the "code" still exists and at no point did anyone play by it on our team.

Anyone paying attention could see this. And yet the Oilers management team somehow couldn't see the value in guys like Corey Perry or Evander Kane even after the last two years. Yes maybe overpayed or less useful in the regular season but you need them in the playoffs. The Oilers could have kept one or both and they decided they didn't need either.

And Knoblauchs only solution is to roll out 97 and 29 again and again. They look completely exhausted and beaten and it's only 3 games into the series. He get's somewhat of a pass because of all the injuries but they need to start playing the rest of the team. Play the 3rd and 4th lines on a regular shift and let them create energy and contribute. Maybe someone will take a piece of one of their skilled players - what an idea!

Right now less is more, particularly with mcdavid. He is a walking turnover and giveaway machine.

It's just that 97 and 29 are clearly injured. So there is no benefit to putting them out there in every situation to get abused. Let the depth go and see what they can do (they can't be worse) and at least have 29 and 97 rested and ready for key situations.

I tend to agree with this. McDavid is actually hurting us on a lot of chances, and just making stupid errors, and doesn’t have the speed that he normally does. Obviously, it’s a tough situation because these are the two best players in the world, so you can’t just bench them. You just hope at some point they get it together and play well, but time is running out. If we lose game four, this series is basically over. I highly doubt we come back from being down three games to one. I also don’t fault Ingram whatsoever, but there were a couple of saves he could have had that could have sent the game to overtime. He gets a pass because he is the least of our problems, and he was so good down the stretch, but he hasn’t been anything special in the playoffs that is for sure. Right now it’s just a complete team failure right now. We just simply aren’t good enough, and Anaheim is playing some very good hockey. They are doing what they need to do, and the Oilers just seemed like they are not prepared.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say McDavid is probably fine. Like at least 97% healthy which is as good as most guys are.

His bullcrap in the OT at the Olympics is what he has been doing non-stop in the playoffs so far. He’s trying to solo things and be a hero. Looks like a guy that has been reading press clipping about how he has never won a championship or gold medal at the Olympics and his legacy is nearing a sad conclusion. He’s totally in his own head and no one is talking him out of it. Just gamble gamble gamble all night long. Skating big circles with popcorn in our own zone when there is chaos around our net hoping the puck will magically pop out to him. It’s bad. Very bad so far.
