Sigh.. McDavid can't McDavid, what defence? Stop with the penalties.
To beat this squad it will need a complete team effort. No waiting around for 97 or 29 and tighten up defensively.
It seems that every opposing coach knows that in the playoffs swarm McDavid or Draisaitl and give them no room to move.. it's the entire playoff strategy. The Oilers keep trying the same thing again and again unable to creatively breakdown the plays and give the boys more room. 97 and 29 just pass it to each other it seems.
When they are on their own line? 5on 5 just swarm McDavid as he carries the puck in, turnover, follow McD into the slot, turnover, follow 29 to the top of the circles compress the space, turnover.
Frustrate the oilers, goad them to penalties. Win.
Man alive I've seen this for 3 years man and the strategy still hasn't changed.
Pick up your socks or it's going to be an early exit. Which may not be a bad thing for 97 and 29 in all honesty..
The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.
