His speed and the attention he draws should be creating space for Hyman and Savoie to get into open spaces and get chances on net... but that line has been totally ineffective through the first two games. So ineffective that the Ducks fourth line looks substantially better.

They need to use each other, not just watch Connor try to skate through everyone and have a superhero moment. That's one thing that Mario started to figure out, and became infinitely more dangerous once he did. He had all the talent in the world and could challenge players, but he was far more dangerous when he would pull multiple defenders out of position and find the open player. The game slowed down and Mario became the Mario we remember now.
