Regardless.. 2006 C. Pronger was an absolute beast.. only reason that team made it to the final..

Probably should have gotten the Conn Smythe. All due respect to Coffey and Bouchard, that's the best postseason by an Oilers Dman I've ever seen. Any dman probably.

And F him.

Yeah I don't know. I think there's some nostalgia for the 06 run and Pronger was definitely a big part of it. But he had 5 goals and 21 points that year. They had a lot of things go their way and ended up losing to a pretty average team in the finals. Pronger was playing in front of a lights out Dwayne Roloson for the majority of that run and the fact that the team imploded when he left and took a dump in their pants for the next decade kind of adds to the legend.

In 23/24 Bouchard had 6 goals and 32 (!) points. Even last year 7 goals and 23 points. I can think of 4 or 5 massive playoff goals of the top of my head that Bouchard scored in the last couple of years. And they lost to a stacked Florida team that was well over the salary cup and hopped up on roids.

Pronger was definitely steady and a calming presence but offensively he scored a penalty shot goal in game that they choked away. Was there anything else?

Not sure if I agree or not but I think it's close. I guess I'd have to go back and watch the 06 games again which I'm not going to do - but I think Bouchard particularly in the playoffs is insanely under appreciated. And he is 26. I was pretty young when Coffee was in his prime so I don't have much of an opinion on where he would stack.
