Cassidy is a top systems coach. I would think very hard about offering him a job despite where we are in the season.

Agree, Cassidy is pretty solid.. he'll be snapped up pretty quick..
I love this move for Vegas though .. (as an Oil fan)
Nice panic move from Vegas.. first one I think I've seen them make.. its been all peaches since they entered the league .. they're starting to feel the heat from lack of performance.. hoping the next panic move is an 8 x $9+M for Anderson.. (please!)
Vegas timed this move pretty well.. lined up Torts first game vs the NHL's worst team (Canucks) tomorrow.. and an ex-Canucks coach.. should be a blow-out.. or .. will it ? :)

Oilers should hire Cassidy as an assistant coach for the rest of the season.

I don't know.. that would essentially be telling Knoblauch you're done.. and you have to work with your replacement for the rest of your time here.. probably more humane to just fire him.. ?
