I bet in the playoffs they would have screwed us. A goalie bleeding from his head is pretty eye-catching though.

Nurse kinda got lost puck watching, so I get why MacKinnon thought he had a gap to go through between Ingram and Nurse, but that was a gamble. Nurse spun and did the desperation reach for the puck and closed that opening down.

From behind you can see MacKinnon's left skate angle out, he wanted to try to go around Ingram, but Nurse's stick and then arm knocks Nate's left leg/skate back straight.



Then Nurse's shoulder/head gives an extra push to make sure MacKinnon is all in nailing Ingram.



Both guys played a part, but I definitely like setting a prescedent to protect goalies. Nate gambled, and he gambled wrong and a goalie got his head sliced and likely a concussion because of it.


If Nurse was actually good at positioning and reading plays, he would have been on MacKinnon much earlier and just been covering him and angling him away from the net from the start. It was a 3 on 3 rush and he basically puck watched the whole way through it while Nate snuck behind him. But That's our Nurse, all about the last second desperation lunging plays after he loses track of guys.
