This in from Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, word that it’s likely a buyer’s market in the National Hockey League, that there’s a lot of d-men on the market, and that the Edmonton Oilers are interested in Toronto’s Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

On Edmonton and OEL, Friedman said on his 32 Thoughts podcast: “I do think the interest in Ekman Larsen is real. I do think Edmonton’s interest in Ekman Larsen is real. And I think it’s just going to be really interesting to see what happens with him in particular, because I do think they could do that if they wanted to.”
On the buyer’s market theory: “All of a sudden, there are more sellers than there are buyers. And some of these buyers are hoping that these sellers are going to panic.”
On the glut in d-men out there: “The thing that someone said to me though is, there’s a lot of D out there, a lot…. There’s a lot of D out there.”

After we trade guys at rock bottom value when they're playing their worse, or are now trying to get rid of guys at rock bottom value, it hurts a bit that we will be chasing after guys that are having lucky seasons and have their values at their highest in years. We could get fleeced again trying to get OEL.
Also hilarious that Bowman just gave a guy 7Mx7 to solidify our 2nd pair along with a 9.25M guy, and we are out trying to find a 2nd pair D to save us.
