We are so back.

Extend Lazar and Mangy Pangy NOW.

If there is anyone remaining on this team without an NMC, change that NOW.

Fun game to watch, but definitely don't love some of the conclusions the Oilers broadcast team was coming up with. Jack blathered on about how the Oilers schedule for the first two months was the real culprit for why we find ourselves out of a playoff spot, and from the way he makes it sound, home games just kind of win themselves I guess. We have some lengthy homestands in the second half, so it's almost like a guarantee that we roll.

Also some talk early about Skinner's bounceback after the Dallas game and how good he's been in the two games since. Rishaug also beating that drum yesterday. Here's hoping the rosy analysis stops at the talking heads and that the actual management of the team isn't swayed by a couple games without getting lit up, or a game where we blow out an opponent.

How many times have we done this dance? Start poorly with goaltending playing a major role in handicapping the start of our seasons. Finally get a hot run around December. Ups and down through the year still leading to guys having to go all out for a decent playoff position, sometimes ending up injured just in time for playoffs. Goaltending proceeds to bite us in the rear again when it matters most in playoffs.

Oilers media gang always so eager to cheer for status quo in net. They really never want to see this team win a cup. Skinner getting his rare hot run should be only seen as an opportunity to sell to finally upgrade that position.
