Apparently the 3rd most searched for buyout. In case you’re wondering, we would get between $1.3m and $1.8m in savings for the next 7 years, and then almost a $1m hit for the next 7 years after that.
What an absolutely idiotic contract. Completely unforced error.
1) NOBODY was giving him a 4 year deal anywhere, let alone AN 8 YEAR DEAL!!!!
2) NOBODY was giving him anywhere close to $3m, nevermind almost $4m. FOR 8 YEARS!!!!
3) and a NMC!!!
I wasn’t using hyperbole in the other thread - I’ve seen more from Clattenberg in 2 games than in 50 Frederic games combined. Guy is just a ghost.

Right of passage for an Oilers GM is signing a horrid deal with NMC where at least 80% of the term fans spend all their time dreaming the player could waive and be traded.
MacT offered Clarkson more than the Leafs did, so it’s really David Clarkson’s fault MacT didn’t have one too.
Bowman I guess signed the cheapest of such deals, but he also achieved a new record time in fans all wishing the players could disappear.
