I think it would be more likely him going to the Avs. Crosby would get to choose where he goes, and he and MacKinnon are good buddies.
Honestly though, I just don't see him leaving. I think he values his legacy as being a one team player over winning Cup #4.

Agree. Plus, keep in mind that you would have to fit his $8.7M contract under the cap limit in the playoffs. Unless there is a significant injury to one of big four (2, 25, 29 or 97) I don't know how you could make that work without some big brain creativity or possibly playing short a player or two.

Play Stetcher instead of Nurse in the playoffs. Or some other swap like that. Frees up space for Crosby pretty quickly.
I say that and I am not a Nurse hater. He is a valuable part of the team, but just makes $4M too much.

This isn't fantasy hockey. We both know that's not happening. They aren't going to sit a guy who wears an A on his chest.

Unless he's hurt, Nurse is playing. He's overpaid, but he's still a pretty valuable member of the team.
And if they DID sit him, it's probably not for a right-shot seventh defenceman who they benched in the finals last year.
