Ekholm has looked terrible for at least the last year and you could argue that his putting himself ahead of the team and pretending to be healthy cost them the cup. He was horrific and brought nothing to the team other than comedic relief - if you think it's funny watching an NHLer skate around bent over trying to pick up his stick while the opposing team kicks it around and then scores. Or blasting routine passes into his teammates jock.

4 Million is probably a massive overpay and I hate the NTC as there are probably still teams out there who could be convinced to give up an actual asset for him.

Hopefully 2 can continue to cover up for him more often than not.
