If the Oilers don't win and McD decides to leave after 3 years and says "I've done all I can do."
Can you fault him? He's done literally all he can do to help this team win. Such a selfless act taking not what he should be owed but to make the team competitive. Players like him are rare.
Hopefully the Oilers brass can make a continual winning team; this season, next season and the season after and beyond.
I'm blown away. Okay to be fair, 12.5 is a healthy chunk of change but the market demanded he could have making, what, 19M a season?
Now Oilers - Go win.
The very definition of insanity is doing the exact same thing expecting different results.
