Biggest blunder? Depends on the lens.
Fans? Biggest is Gretzky trade, without question. You just don't sell an asset like that.
Org? The probably think that acquiring any player that spoke up against the organization while playing for them needs to go. I point at Taylor Hall and David Perron.
Recently memory, bringing on a way past his prime Pat Quinn on the team (although I loved bringing in big irish), extremely poor quality GMs Steve Tabellini (mister twiddle thumbs), Craig MacTavish (Love Liam Reddox), Peter Chiarelli (Taylor 1 for 1). Bad coach after bad coach, Dallas Eakins anyone? OBC... the old boys club. --- eeeeyuck.
I really dislike Stan Bowman and I do not think he can lead the Oilers down the rose garden. Case in point, signing Frederic for 8 years. Why? He was the big get?? HIM??
[Extreme take alert] This entire organization rode McD and Draisaitl until the wheels fall off and if Connor leaves without any support to win, how can we as fans blame him? I'll tell ya one thing, fans simply will not come out for that shiny coin, the billion dollar franchise this is now, will be reduced to rubble or move.
[Less extreme take alert] If Connor does go.. We have Leon for 8 years, the future was brighter when he signed. With Connor it's not so much. It's like he's begging arms outreached, "look what's the plan? I can do what I can on the ice but it just can't be me and Leon.. we need more.. it's a team game man"
Either way.. it's ice berg right ahead, do they go hard astern or do the hit the iceberg and see if this unsinkable ship still floats..
Plus... while I'm thinking about it; Rose had more than enough room on that chunk of wood she was floating on for Jack, yet he freezes to death.. (lol)

It really sucks so much that we wasted McDavid's prime on Chiarelli and Holland. If McDavid ends up going, that goes to the top of my list. Failing to win a cup after getting a clear cut generational talent, that's basically unheard of, but we would accomplish it if he does go.
Selfishly I hope McDavid is still an optimist and somehow believes that Stan Bowman will make management moves needed to push this team over the hump. I wouldn't blame him either if he doesn't though, because I don't even believe that :)
We went all in signing his BFF's, we brought in his old agent, we hired his old coach. The org seems to be supporting his wife in any little side business she wants to do, like oilers jackets and whatever. We've done everything we could off the ice to try to make McDavid happy to try to cancel out the terrible management thing. Fingers crossed it was enough.
