I think we'll be extremely fortunate if he averages out as a 40 point scorer in Edmonton. The reality is that he's only had one year where he's ever reached that mark. His next highest total is 31 and even at the AHL level he only had one year where he crested 0.5 ppg. If we set our expectations at 30 points, we'll be less likely to be disappointed.

Worth noting though, after 97, 29, 93 and 18, only Perry and Brown hit 30 points this year (and both of them only just getting to that number). The year before, only Kane (44), Foegele (41) and McLeod (30) got there. In 2022-23, we didn't have anyone out of those top players who reached 30 points. If he brings physicality and 30 points, then he'll still potentially be in the top half of the forwards on our roster.
