That is ridiculous that we are the first team to get scrutinized here.

If anyone thought that NHL Corp had an anti-Oiler bias.. this is more proof of it.. UN-precidented scrutiny.. Vegas, Tampa, Florida do it multiple times with their most expensive players.. and Edmonton is the one that has to "prove" their case ? This league is so much bull***t they don't even try to not make it obvious.. it started with the draft picks for the GM hire and sealed it with the draft picks for Neil.. they just make up the rules to suit their fancy.. much like their rule book interpretations.. and the continued DOPS charade..

If I were Katz I'd tell the NHL to F off or see them in court, where they can explain their reasoning and past prescedents regarding LTIR to a real judge.. see what happens..

I think it's far more likely that management isn't as savvy as the rest of the league and gets caught with their pants down more often.

Heavily leaning to Kane and his big mouth and resisting playing along giving the league the opening they needed. He screwed himself and the team over last year too.

Just one of the most selfish players we've ever had. Doesn't keep his mouth shut ever. I am still aghast that there were people talking about him being upset about his role in the lineup in the Stanley Cup Finals - a Finals where in 6 games his stats line is 1-0-1, with 9 shots and 32 penalty minutes.

That was the fully up to speed Kane too in the finals. What a disaster. Maybe we can blame the refs a bit, but going into hits with his stick chest high over and over, the guy was a total dope and took himself out of the series.

If he really did burn us on the LTIR thing too, we should be moving on from him.

Where are these rumours that Kane is to blame for the LTIR investigation by the NHL Corp cabal?
It sounds to me like the NHL just decided on its own .. they don't have any evidence.. or they'd state now.. they just want to go fishing for it.. start an investigation .. threaten people.. and see where it leads.. which they've never EVER done with any other team not named Oilers.. its a a complete fraud.

Just going by 2 years of confusion around Kane and injuries. Somehow he turned a hernia in October 2023 into multiple hernias and torn muscles that took him out of the playoffs in May 2024. He seemed to want credit for being a hero playing through injury, but it's still crazy how poorly he and the team handled that injury. As a team serious about winning a cup, I have to think the org was pressuring him to get fixed up with 6 months of time left before playoffs, but it ended up going as badly as anyone could have imagined.

This year, it was absolutely bizarre to hear reports that Kane was pushing to come back before the season ended around the deadline. All this confusion actually forced Bowman to pay extra for cap retention on Frederic, and it brought all kinds of attention from the league on us. How this all went down very much looked like a team and a player once again not on the same page on how to act for the betterment of the team and our chance to win a cup. Other teams that gamed LTIR never had any kind of dissent or confusion around the players injuries. Player and team 100% on the same page the whole way through.
