That is ridiculous that we are the first team to get scrutinized here.


If anyone thought that NHL Corp had an anti-Oiler bias.. this is more proof of it.. UN-precidented scrutiny.. Vegas, Tampa, Florida do it multiple times with their most expensive players.. and Edmonton is the one that has to "prove" their case ? This league is so much bull***t they don't even try to not make it obvious.. it started with the draft picks for the GM hire and sealed it with the draft picks for Neil.. they just make up the rules to suit their fancy.. much like their rule book interpretations.. and the continued DOPS charade..

If I were Katz I'd tell the NHL to F off or see them in court, where they can explain their reasoning and past prescedents regarding LTIR to a real judge.. see what happens..

I think it's far more likely that management isn't as savvy as the rest of the league and gets caught with their pants down more often.


Also, every time the Oilers get hit with a crap sandwich from the league, we quietly just eat it as we're told to do. Other teams are more likely to rock the boat if they were, say, the only teams required to pay draft picks for picking up fired executives, or to pay draft picks on pro-rated Covid results, etc.

It pays to be the squeaky wheel sometimes. If they come after us here, we have to fight back loudly.
