| Hibernia wrote on Fri, 06 June 2025 08:31 | I just saw a video preview on TSN asking if 97 and 29 would stay together in Game 2. I didn't watch it, so, maybe I'm echoing those thoughts. Maybe I'm saying something original.
I'd leave them together against the Panthers. Maurice has made a big deal about the fact that he won't line match. Well, if he's comfortable putting out any line against any line the Oilers can throw out there, why not load up one line and see if he's still comfortable not chasing match-ups? Knobs seems okay playing RNH at Centre on the 2nd line. If the Oilers depth lines can tread water a loaded up MVP line should be able to win their minutes and possibly tilt the ice in the Oilers favour.

In my humble not understanding hockey and wrong about everything Oilers opinion, I wouldn't. I would mix 97 and 29 in there in parts of the game making the Panthers guess when they are going to together and when they think they figure it out mix it up again. You have to use last change to every advantage and doing this would leverage your bench against the panthers.

That's fair. And, with the way Knobs runs the bench, lines are never really permanent anyhow. We used to joke about MacT's blender, but Knoblach probably changes up the lines more than any coach in Oilers' history.
What happened to all of my messages? lol (I guess it's been awhile) BlueSky: StefBarnes
