Why don't we ever do this?
I was thinking this weekend, that really Knoblauch should be saying casually that we know the last three years that the Kings have generally resorted to a lot of dirty plays, trying to injure and slow down our best players, and trusting that in the playoffs the referees are going to put away their whistles. We have full confidence in the officiating that they're not going to fall for that though...
I mean, simple enough. Doesn't get you fined or suspended, and puts the Kings on notice. It probably is enough to get a soundbite. We've for too long had coaches who just seem to think they're above any sort of gamesmanship. It's irritating.

Cooper's great at it.. Knobbie's way too stoic at times.. Refs do get influenced.. that's why they beak-off in the press.

I miss having a guy like Glen Sather at the helm. Not specifically him, he's pretty ancient now, but through all his time here he was always a master at positioning the team for success. He'd call out things if they needed to be called out. He'd go in to conversations with the media with a purpose, not just simply to answer the questions they were going to ask.
He'd find a way in to the soundbites here, and have the refs thinking that they better be watching the Kings in this one.
It would be nice to see that, rather than a bunch of vanilla from coaches terrified of stepping on anyone's toes.
